AT A GLANCE
Los
residentes de Barangay Osmeña, viven una vida simple. Como las otras
comunidades de pobres, la sobrevivencia es una lucha de cada dia. Ellos
están viviendo sus vidas luchando contra enfermedades por la causa de
malnutrición y calamidades naturales como inundaciones y tifones. La
pobreza es una ironea en el sentido de que en su alrededor es zona
agricultural y playa y el mar esta en la frente. Es evidente lo
que esta faltando: la capacidad de soñar y la esperanza for un futuro
mejor atribuido por la falta de educación causando la menor
probabilidad de encontrar un trabajo estable y digno. Sus hijos salen
fuera de sus estudios para ayudar en campo o en el mar y como
consequencias empieza sus propios familias sin acabar bien su juventud.
Un circulo vicioso que se afecta la mayoría de la comunidad. Gawad
Kalinga han entrado para ofrecer oportunidades de recomponer sus sueños
de nuevo y tener la esperanza. Sr. Robert Torres es el encargado

Ang
mga naninirahan sa Barangay Osmeña ay payak sa pamumuhay. Katulad ng
ibang mga pamayanan ng mahihirap ang pang araw araw na pamumuhay ay
isang ay pakikibaka. Nakaamba ang sakit at karamdaman dahil sa
malnutrisyon epekto ng kalamidades tulad ng bagyo at mga baha. Ang
kanilang kahirapan ay kabalintunaan, ang paligid ay lupain na maaring
pagtaniman at malapit sa baybayin na sagana sa mga bungang dagat. Ang
sanhi ay ang pagkawala ng kanilang pag-asa at paglalaho ng kakayahang
mangarap, pagsuko sa kasalukuyang kalagayan. Kakulangan ng
pormasyon para sa maayos at matatag na hanapbuhay, ang mga bata ay
nahihinto sa pag aaral at tumutulong sa bukid o sa dagat. At sila ay ang
marami sa kanila ay nakapag aasawa sa murang edad. Ang layunin ng Gawad
Kalinga, tulungan sila na maibalik ang pagtitiwala sa buhay at

Marami pa ang pamilya na naghihintay makapanirahan sa RBJP GK Village. Naghahandog ng karagdagang 35 bahay ang GK ESPANYA. Patuloy ang ating paghahanap ng may mabuting kalooban para sa proyektong ito. Makipag alam sa samahan.
The
residents of Barangay Osmeña are very simple people with ordinary
ambitions and aspirations. As with any other shared characteristics of a
poor community, living in a day to day survival. They have lived most of
their lives conquering sickness due to malnutrition and a host of
natural calamities such as landslides, floods and typhoons. Their
poverty is quite ironic in the sense that the nearby coastal area
provides bountiful sea harvests while the soil is fertile and ideal for
farming. The seeming lack of capacity to dream and hope for a brighter
future can be attributed to a very low educational attainment of the
residents, hence lower opportunity for the heads of the families to look
for stable jobs. This vicious cycle is often repeated again and again to
their offsprings: children stopped schooling at early ages to work as
farm hands and consequently start their own family at a very young age.
Gawad Kalinga entered to offer help so that they will regain their
capacity to dream and find their hope in life. Mr. Robert Torres the
Project Director.
